Để viết supplement essays, các bạn cần nhớ 3 điều:
YOURSELF: thể hiện 1 điều gì đó đặc biệt về bạn mà bạn chưa kể trong phần chính của Application.
ANECDOTE: lồng ghép 1 câu chuyện cá nhân ngắn của bạn vào bài essay
FUN: sáng tạo trong cách trình bày ý tưởng và diễn đạt ngôn ngữ, không cần theo một quy chuẩn cứng nhắc nào
Ví dụ: trường Chicago đã công bố câu hỏi năm nay.

Anecdote: I had planned the holiday trip to Sapa six months in advance. One week before the trip, the news of barefooted children walking on snow in Sapa went viral. I initiated “Shoes for Sapa” and didn’t have a moment of rest during the supposedly relaxing trip. |
Essay Option 3.
Joan of Arkansas. Queen Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Babe Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Mash up a historical figure with a new time period, environment, location, or occupation, and tell us their story.

Anecdote: After the trip to Sapa, I realized that kids needed different pairs of shoes to walk to school along mountain slopes, on snow and across rocky streams. Steve Jobs and I invented iShoes: with one pair of iShoes, a child can adjust the outer layers to fit his/her purpose of walking. |
